As the parent of a young kindergarden age girl i am constantly looking for toys and games that my daughter might like to play with. Like any little princess she loves to play with dolls, teddy bears and little tea sets. It was during one of my online toy forays that i came across the Kidkraft range of products and after doing a little research i decided to share my findings on their products as well as the company.

Kidkraft,or Kidcraft as some people spell it, has been aroung for about 44 years since it's formation in 1968. Kidkraft designs and develops toys and room accessories for children and they are based in the United States, and they recently opened a European center in the Netherlands. Kidcraft was founded by engineers and the company site states that they continue to integrate engineering concepts into their designs.
A quick search of their location has the company located in Dallas, Texas even though their site does state that their toys are manufactured overseas.

Kidkraft and Safety
Most parents are concerned with the safety and quality of toys their children play with and i will admit i was concerned when i read the Kidcraft manufactures all their toys overseas so i looked for information on their safety procedures. The information i found reassured me that their products are safe and good quality products. Kidkraft employs a third party testing laboratory facility to ensure that their products are compliant with regulatory standards. The company meets or betters the consumer product safety act requirements covering areas such as flammability, lead levels and mechanical defects. A quick check of the consumer product safety council website (cpsc.gov) and the Better Business Bureau sites showed no complaints against the company.
For residents of Illinois and California you will be glad to know that their products conform to the Illinois act limiting lead levels in toys as well as the California statute limiting fermaldehyde emitted by wood products.As for Europe, Kidkraft toys are tested to the European Standard for toy safety EN71 guidelines.
